This BIG Fat Universe...

I have a question...

With the increase in technology, they are discovering how crazy huge the universe/cosmos/creation really is.

As in, billions of light years out there - there are stars & planets...etc.  It seems unending.

As in, there are now 1000's of planets & possibly millions or billions.  Some of them are "almost exactly like earth".  They have about 50 of them they call "super earths"...like ours - only bigger.

My question.

If they discovered any type of organized life system out there...how would that fit into your theology?

Would it mess it up?  Would it come into play at all?  Etc.

  1. I'm not sure how I'd handle that. But, it seems like a huge waste of space to think there is nothing out there at all. It is something I ponder though...to the point I've asked a few people - the answers go all over the chart...

  2. It may be naive to think this way, but I feel like if it were important, The Bible would've let us know... of course, human nature is going to keep making us wonder what else is out there, but I don't even think that it's important enough to spend so much time and billions of dollars trying to figure out...

    1. The reason it would mess with me is exactly that. I'd like to know the writers of the Bible were aware that there was more than the eye could see. But, it's not something I dwell on - but if I read an article that is factual...I cant ignore pondering it. It's how I'm wired... As for exploring it - it's almost too much out there to just ignore. Now we need to do the samei n the ocean too.

  5. He created the heavens and earth. This to me is more than just us. I know my pea brain is small so gotta be more than just me out there.

  6. I didn't comprehend the possibility until I read C.S. Lewis' "Space Trilogy".

It's entirely possible our CREATOR breathed life into other beings somewhere else. He created angels loong before us. They may even have no sin, but live in perfect communion with the Father.

The Bible doesn't explain a lot of stuff. A lot of what it does explain is veiled.

What blows my mind is the evolutionists who insist that there is intelligent extra-terrestrial life. Evolution points that microbes formed by chance and morphed into more complex organisms through failures and successes over millions of years, some of whom developed self awareness and marked intelligence. They are having difficulty finding planets in the Goldilocks zone. They purport the universe has developed over billions of years.

It seems that the chance for extra-terrestrial intelligence lies in a CREATOR placing them there.

  7. I have a hard enough time dealing with the people in my family, I don't think I woudl worry about a whole another earth of them. For me its like the people on the other side of the planet. It kind of boggles my mind just living an ocean away. I think that there very well could be other earth's and if I really think about it it boggles the brain but it one of those I don't think about it too much. I will just let God handle them :) its one of those I think it could be but I just like to live in the unknown.
