This BIG Fat Universe...

I have a question...


With the increase in technology, they are discovering how crazy huge the universe/cosmos/creation really is.


As in, billions of light years out there - there are stars & planets...etc.  It seems unending.


As in, there are now 1000's of planets & possibly millions or billions.  Some of them are "almost exactly like earth".  They have about 50 of them they call "super earths"...like ours - only bigger.


My question.


If they discovered any type of organized life system out there...how would that fit into your theology?


Would it mess it up?  Would it come into play at all?  Etc.

2011 Music AND Beyond

OK


Here's something I get really bored with & struggle with as far as Christian music is concerned.


Forgive me now...But, IMO - the last couple years of Christian music have been really boring. (If you feel the same way, insert any other other words similar to boring...)


It's like we have hit pause & keep regurgitating the same old music over & over.


A couple groups write new songs that sound just like the old songs...So, I struggle listening to any & all of it.


I just am not getting it for the most part - and haven't for quite a while.  It's like there is a famine in the land of really good heart grabbing soul stirring mind blowing Christian music...


I am as much into the lyrics of a song as I am into the music itself.  It's not uncommon for me to really get something out of a "secular" song or group...something that hits me right where I am.


It seems there are people more in touch with the reality of life than some of the Christian writers are - or something???

So


Help me out here...


What music of late stirs your soul...grabs your heart...blows your mind?  Christian or Secular...if it speaks to your life - I'd like to know about it.

We are going to start with something easy...


The Bible teaches us that we are MIND...BODY...SPIRIT... (or Heart...Soul...Mind...)


That being the case...for holistic health &/or well being - we need to be aware of all three.  To live an abundant life - we have to have health in each area.


So often we neglect an area - only to have it cost us later in life.  IE - we are spiritually healthy - but obese & an emotional wreck.  Or, we are healthy & far from God...etc.


That being so...


In looking ahead to 2012 - in each area - MIND, BODY & SPIRIT, what would you like to be said about each area?  What word would describe where you'd like to be in a year from now?  What would progress or health look like for you a year from now?


For me - 2012


Mind - I'd like to stay on a continual growth path.  I'd like to continue living in this peace that is so much a part of my life now.  Life long learner is what I want to be.


Body - To continue to evolve my eating into a more healthy lifestyle.  I want to live as long as I can.  So, I will continue to learn more ways to take care of my body.  Control what I can - so I minimize what I can't.


Spirit - To continue learning what it means to be a Christ Follower & Christ Finder.  Out of breath pursuing Him is how I want to be.  Developing more & more in spiritual disciplines.

I want to start a new type of blog...

A little more interactive/participative...

One that proposes questions...ideas...thoughts...etc.  AND asks for feedback...others opinions...etc.
